Happy Strawberry Shortcake Day!
For the best juicy and sweet strawberries, June is the season. This month also brings up the best memories. For instance, we get the anticipation of summer, school is out in the US, and family vacations begin! Let’s go bananas! In addition, bananas have a subtly sweet aroma, are creamy, and always complement strawberries well. I hope you enjoy this quick treat.

Ingredients and Instructions
Simple ingredients, right? I used strawberries, a banana, a thick slice of angel food cake, vanilla extract, sugar, and whipped cream for the recipe. Mixed the sugar, extract with hot water to make a simple syrup, then toss in the strawberries and banana. Alternate the strawberries, sliced bananas, and cake in a cup, then top with whipped cream. You can put some whipped cream in the middle as well while layering.

Equipment
Small mixing bowl - Used for making the simple syrup and tossing the strawberries and banana.
Kitchen Must Haves - Find other tools I use here.
Storage
It does not do well in the fridge assembled. Only the sliced strawberries and cake will last two days. Therefore, everything else must be used immediately.
Air Tight Food Containers - I use Glass Food Storage Containers with a plastic clipping lid to store food. For example, I always suggest glass storage containers since you can microwave them and hold food without staining the container, and the glass keeps them at a more stable temperature, which keeps the food fresher longer.
Cooking tip
Use the cake to soak up the leftover simple syrup, then assemble.
